1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Booker mobile application, website and related services (together, the “Service”). Booker connects customers with independent beauty and wellness businesses and provides tools for business owners and staff.
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: mobile number, display name, profile photo, referral code and account identifiers.
- Location information: precise location while the app is in use, approximate location, manually entered city and business addresses or coordinates. Device permission controls whether Booker can access location.
- Booking information: selected business, service, staff member, appointment time, customer note, price, discounts, status, reschedule or cancellation activity, and payment method/status.
- Business information: business and owner details, contact number, address, photos, services, prices, hours, staff information, offers and UPI ID.
- Content: reviews, ratings, photos and information you submit to support.
- Device and technical information: push-notification token, platform, IP address, request logs and diagnostic information needed to secure and operate the Service.
Booker does not request or store your UPI PIN, full card number or bank password. Online payments are securely processed by Razorpay. Booker stores limited transaction references, status and amount information needed to verify payment, complete bookings, prevent fraud and handle support, accounting, refunds or disputes.
3. How we use information
- Create and secure accounts and verify mobile numbers.
- Show nearby businesses, calculate distance and support business-location setup.
- Create, manage, reschedule, cancel and complete appointments.
- Provide business-owner and staff tools, payment records, offers and referral benefits.
- Send booking, reminder, status and service notifications.
- Display profiles, business information and reviews where relevant.
- Prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents; enforce our Terms; comply with law.
- Maintain and improve reliability and customer support.
4. When information is shared
We share only what is reasonably necessary:
- Customers and businesses: booking and contact details needed to provide an appointment. Public business details and reviews are visible to users.
- Service providers: Razorpay and participating banks/payment networks, cloud hosting/database providers, Firebase Cloud Messaging, operating-system services, mapping/geocoding services and vendors that help us operate the Service under appropriate safeguards.
- Legal and safety: authorities or others where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, users or the Service.
- Business transfer: a successor involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party behavioural advertising.
5. Permissions and choices
You can control location, photo-library and notification permissions in device settings. Without location, some nearby-discovery features may be unavailable; business addresses can be entered manually. You can edit your name, mobile number and profile photo in Personal profile.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. Retention periods depend on the data and purpose.
You may permanently delete your account in Profile → Delete account after OTP verification, or use our web deletion page. Deletion removes or anonymises personal profile data, tokens, favourites, reviews and referral information, cancels active customer bookings, and deactivates businesses owned by the account. Completed booking or transaction records may be retained in anonymised or legally required form. Limited backup copies may remain temporarily until routine deletion cycles complete.
7. Security
We use access controls, OTP verification, hashed credentials, encrypted transport and operational safeguards designed to protect information. No method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child. If you believe a child has provided data, contact Booker Support so it can be reviewed and removed as required.
9. International processing
Service providers may process information in locations outside your state or country. Where required, we use measures intended to protect information consistently with applicable law.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, updating, deletion, withdrawal of consent or grievance resolution. Some information must be retained where law permits or requires it. Use the profile and deletion controls in the app, or contact Booker Support through Profile → Help and support.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service or law changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required. Privacy questions and grievances can be submitted through Profile → Help and support.
Until dedicated public contact details are published, registered users can reach Booker through Profile → Help and support in the mobile application.
Public operator details pending: the registered business name, postal address, support email, support phone and jurisdiction city must be configured before payment-gateway website review.
